Hi - I'm Dan Geyer and just like you... I was born with ZERO filmmaking skills, fancy gear, or any support.
Since I was 12 I wanted to direct movies.
Growing up in Cleveland, Ohio with no resources, I mastered getting favors and getting friends family and the townspeople involved in my little productions.
I won the Scholastic Gold Key in filmmaking and also in photography when I was 16 and the Philo T. Farnsworth award, essentially making me one of the top student filmmaker in the midwest, at 17.
I was awarded full scholarships to many art schools in the midwest but I declined those, moved across the country with no money or parental support and enrolled in film school by taking out $100,000 dollars in debt. I slept on the floor in a friend's living room...
Why? To learn from the best minds in hollywood.
I worked in post production, visual effects in movie trailers, commercials, behind the scenes documentaries, feature films. I have been mentored by multiple academy award winners and went on to direct indie shorts, indie features, a TV pilot, and commercials.

You can decide to pick up some gear using our gear recommendations in the course, but this is not required.
Do I need additional fancy software and equipment?
No. The point of this program is to turn you into a weapon.
The quality of your work stems from you, that is the most valuable problem I can solve for you to transform your life. I do have equipment and software recommendations in this course but we also go over how to make what you have work and available free tools.
